| Monday, July 31, 2006 Hey everyone!! I'm safely landed and settling back into my home in melbourne. It was super cold today, 8 degrees plus rain :( It was so gloomy walking around uni but along the way i remembered to thank God for his numerous blessings and how He is always with us walking by our side and encouraging us. Today once my plane landed and i cleared customs ( they took away my instant milk tea :( ) i took a cab back, i was so tired as i couldn't sleep on the plane but i thank God He gave me the strength to get home, and then go out and buy my readers for my subjects as well as deal with my timetable issue, plus even to go to the supermarket to buy food to store up. At the moment, the advisor just told me to go to the tutorial i would like and ask the tutor if i can join. So im praying that it will all work out fine. Other than that, i've actually finished unpacking my luggage and hanged up all my clothes and tidied my room a little :) I really want to send out my thanks and love to Terence, Lishan, Aunty Grace & Uncle Ben for coming to the airport to send me off. They love they shared with me again reminds me of God's love that even in our imperfections, He loves us so so much. I miss my family & Melvin of course, being back in Melb without them but i am conforted that God is here with me. Just want to send all my love to all of you youngones, so sad i won't be able to spend Friday with you all playing at Games Night. Haha but have fun and continue to shine for His glory. Much huggies & kisses from Melb, Ann :) youngones at 8:37 PM
Thanksgiving & Prayer requests 28 Jul 06 Hey Ann, i think you should be in class right now. Hope the SQ flight went well for you. Just want to thank God for everyone in our Young Ones group. Though we be young but there's so much potential in each and everyone of us. Thank God for the intimate sharing we had last Friday. Though we are imperfect, I'm glad we can come out to be real and share our struggles and failures. Personally, thank God for friends and pastors who also encouraged me on Sun. And I was reminded of this verse that my faith be tried to work patience. It hit me so real, that I finally knew what God is doing in my life. From James 1:3-4 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting (lacking) nothing. A background of what's happened. I've been looking for work since starting of May. Applied to stat boards that I was keen on. Went for interviews but doors were closed after that. I felt really lousy on graduation day, where all my classmates met up. Strangely, all except 1 (i'm unsure of his situation) and me have gotten offers or started work already. In fact, none of us landed in industry directly related to Bioengineering. They went into banking, government ,GLCs, insurance, shipping and teaching. A few brilliant ones decided to pursue phDs. Things were beyond my control. Some of us may know that I was waiting for about 3 weeks for STB to reply. Strangely, on that week when I was rejected, 1 of my classmate's friend actually got that position i was applying for. He was initially rejected because of his results and he managed to appeal to his university for a review. So when that was approved, he got the job and I got the rejection. This could sound cliche, but I now thank God for He is in control. How do I count it all joy when I fall into diverse temptation; especially to be tempted to be bitter against God, to be tempted to wrath or self-pity or even walk away from Him? Yes, it can be done as God wants me to count it all joy. I'm as baffled as I can be, but His way is not my way. I thank God that I can start this new week refreshed knowing that He has given me a verse and an answer to His plan. I hope to encourage you as you study or work to do it for His glory. What's most important is God, and we have to be careful of the idols in our lives. The Prayer Request on 28 Jul 06: David: Good & sound mind to cope with sch. Gg back in Aug. Gina: Approval for exchange program to States. Delaine: Report and Presentation for Taiwan or Japan. Meishan: Wisdom in school and to honour parents at home. Shanci: Time management from work. Michelle: Centre of God's will. Wisdom at work. Jon E: Patient and Instructor management. Ann: Sch timetable, adjusting back to sch in Mel. Lishan: Time & nephew management. Paul: Wisdom in work, now 5 bosses to work for. Terence: The job. Stevie: Safety, strong spiritual walk with God in BMT, Tekong. That's all. Thanks and we'll meet this Fri at my place. Will sms/email you the details. Have a great week ahead! Terence youngones at 2:03 PM
Sunday, July 30, 2006 Hey all you youngones :) I'm going to be going to the airport in about an hour, just want to say a short farewell and i'll update again once im all settled in my home in melb. Saturday, July 29, 2006 Hello! Tonight's chocolate fondue was superb. It was fun at ACTS tonight. David and i were just commenting on how good our group is because we're all about the same age and can relate to each other and how much we like being in it. =) It's true! haha we do have very altruistic, sacrificial, good-hearted, loving and sincere people in the group. I can't think of a single person in the group who isn't nice. I thank God that i can come to a church with christians who actually desire to live spirit-filled lives and for strategicly placing so many christians in my life to constantly remind me of His love, promises, and His word. It's hard to live in a messed up world. anyway, there's nothing much going on except that i've been baking more, spending time with friends family david and i'm always kinda worrying (tho i shouldn't) about not being able to do well in school. The overseas exchange application was like a wake up call so to speak because i had to look at my grades and they're terrible. I've prayed about it and i've been praying so i guess we'll just have to wait till school reopens and watch the stress bury me. update soon, youngones. gina youngones at 1:09 AM
